Problem:
Children who recently immigrated from other countries often struggle with assimilating to a new environment, culture, and language. They have grown up in a completely different setting and likely have immigrant parents that are also unable to help their children in assimilating to a new country.
Solution:
Through our weekly summer camp, we find instructors who have shared similar experiences and aim to pair them with students who are struggling with assimilating. Oftentimes, these instructors also come from the same background as the student and share similar experiences.
Impact:
The summer camp has been ran several times now and we have received amazing ratings from both students and their parents, who feel that the activities we hosted with the kids has genuinely been beneficial and has benefited them in learning the language and culture of the United States.
